LIBERTY COUNTY – Authorities are investigating after two bodies were found inside of a burning vehicle in Liberty County Wednesday morning.
Deputies with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a burning vehicle underneath the FM 1409 bridge around 2:30 a.m.

Once deputies arrived, they found two bodies inside the vehicle. One body was found in the backseat of the vehicle and the second body was found in the trunk.
Deputies said foul play is suspected.
Investigators are working to determine the sex of the victims and the cause of the fire.
Also, TxDOT crews briefly shut down FM 1409 so they could check the structural integrity of the bridge.
