Man killed, teenager injured in home invasion at southeast Houston apartment complex, police say

HOUSTON – Police said they are searching for a shooter after a suspected home invasion turned deadly at a southeast Houston apartment complex Thursday.

Officers said it happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 10900 block of the Gulf Freeway.

Detectives said a man in a mask and a hoodie invaded an apartment and opened fire, killing a man and grazing a 15-year-old boy in the back of the head.

“They found one male in the back bedroom that is shot several times and is deceased,” Houston Police Department Lieutenant R. Willkens said.

Right now, investigators said the 15-year-old boy is in surgery.

Police said the shooter is still on the loose. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
