BLM Houston holds vigil to honor George Floyd

Several members of Black Lives Matter - Houston gathered Tuesday evening to honor George Floyd after Dereck Chauvin, the Minneapolis cop who kneeled on Floyd’s neck for more than eight minutes, was found guilty on all charges.

The “Vigil 4 Floyd” was held at Macgregor Park in Floyd’s hometown.

Several members of the community gathered around to pay homage to Floyd and celebrate justice being served.

“We demand accountability and justice for Black lives in Houston and around this country! We uplift his name,” BLM Houston said.

The vigil was organized by civil rights activist Ashton Woods.
