Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee announces Federal American Rescue Act grant for expanded vaccinations

HOUSTON – Congresswoman Sheila Jackson visited Thomas Street Clinic Wednesday to announce the Federal American Rescue Act grant that was recently provided to the Harris Health System for expanded vaccinations, testing, and contact tracing.

The congresswoman made the announcement along with Commissioner Adrian Garcia and several local health officials and at the clinic located at 2015 Thomas St. at 1 p.m.

Lee presented the $33 million check that the state will receive and a $3 million check for the Harris Health System.

Garcia said the grants will help strengthen the economy.
