HOUSTON – Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo said the county is seeing results in its fight against COVID-19, but more efforts are needed to help get as many people vaccinated as soon as possible.
She called on vaccine providers throughout the county to increase their efforts to make the COVID-19 vaccine available to the county’s most vulnerable residents.

Hidalgo called on providers -- including retail chains -- to be proactive to make sure vulnerable populations receive the vaccine. She added that registration is also important for providers to offer registration online and over the phone. She said people also need to know that vaccines are free and no insurance is needed, nor should extensive identification requirements be in place which could discourage some populations from receiving the vaccine.
