Man who killed himself, shot wife identified after shooting at west Houston hospital

HOUSTON – The man who died after shooting his wife at a doctor’s office next to a hospital at west Houston has been identified as Andrew Wang, 64, according to the Houston Police Department.

The shooting was reported on Monday just before 3 p.m. at 12141 Richmond Ave., next door to the Woman’s Hospital of Texas.

Houston police said the couple came into the office together for the suspect’s appointment at an office on the 4th floor of the professional building next to the hospital. Police said a witness reported that the man seemed agitated and told his wife “I’m going to kill you, I want you to die” before shooting her twice. Police said the man then fatally shot himself.

The 54-year-old woman was found lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the chest and forearm. She was taken to Memorial Hermann for treatment, police said. The woman is in stable condition, police said Tuesday morning.

The gun was recovered at the scene.
