HCSO: Pedestrian hit, killed by pickup truck on Woodforest Blvd. in Channelview

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver late Saturday in Channelview, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 9:52 p.m., a driver in a pickup truck was traveling eastbound in the 15200 block of Woodforest Boulevard when he struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the road in an unmarked area, officials said.

The pedestrian, identified as Angel Canales, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officials said the driver, Juan Balderas, showed no signs of intoxication during the scene investigation.

The case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
