The victim was transported via Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries shortly after arrival, officials said in a release.

Officials identified the victim as 19-year-old Devin Wood.

Wood’s parents told investigators they heard several gunshots before Wood came inside the residence and told them he was shot.

While on scene, deputies received a call that two men with gunshot wounds had been dropped off at Memorial Hermann Convenient Care, located at 1420 E Sam Houston Parkway. Deputies responded to the location and detained both men.

Homicide investigators determined both incidents were related.

Based on the investigation, investigators charged Kevin Briscoe and Jaylan Womack, both 18-years-of-age, with the shooting death of Wood. Officials said robbery appears to be the motive behind the shooting.

Womack and Briscoe are currently booked into the Harris County Jail.
