NEW CANEY, Texas – A New Caney woman is recovering in the hospital after Montgomery County deputies say she told them her husband shot her in the chest with a shotgun and then turned the gun on himself.
Deputies said the murder-suicide attempt happened at a home on Tree Monkey Road near FM 1485.
According to authorities, the man was found dead at the home.
Deputies said the woman, who is 51 years old, is expected to survive the shooting.
