Irish teen conquers cancer in Houston after emotional video plea

Teenager Shauntelle Tynan made an emotional video plea about a rare cancer she was fighting, and her desire to get treatment from a Houston doctor.

In the tearful video, Tynan spoke specifically of Texas Children's Hospital and how she was in a life or death situation.

According to Texas Medical Center, the video went viral and the funds Tynan needed to travel to Texas were quickly raised.

Soon after Tynan arrived she was placed under aggressive chemotherapy treatment through Dr. Kenneth McClain, director of the Histiocytosis Program at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers.

In August, Tynan was told she was cancer-free.

In September, Tynan rang a bell at the hospital, which is symbolic of beating cancer.

Tynan is back in Ireland, monitoring her health and trying to keep her YouTube channel active.
