Frustration mounts as patrons forced to wait for band competition

Headline Goes Here

HOUSTON - It was supposed to be a day filled with celebration and music, but it left many frustrated and angry.

Saturday was the 13th annual MLK Battle of the Bands competition at Joe Kelly  Butler Stadium. Twenty award winning groups were supposed to battle for scholarship opportunities, but it was all delayed after organizers shut the doors before the event even started.

Some parents told Local 2 that they waited for two and a half hours past the start time before the doors were opened. Organizers for the MLK Battle of the Bands competition said the delay was caused by a larger than expected turnout. That required additional insurance coverage before patrons could be allowed in.
