Kaepernick, former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, is currently a free agent.

Kaepernick is known for kneeling during the National Anthem as a sign of resistance and activism following the deaths of several African-Americans in police-related incidents and other social justice causes.

The Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said recently that  they’ve discussed signing Kaepernick.

Kaepernick remains unsigned and has filed a complaint that team owners colluded against him because of the protests.
