HOUSTON – Three men are in custody and charged in the July shooting death of a Houston man.
Houston police say 29-year-old Jelani Simmonds was shot to death just after midnight on July 7, 2013 at a townhouse in the 9400 block of Pagewood.
Officials say neighbors heard several gunshots and found Simmonds a short time later.
Simmonds died at the scene.
Houston police say further investigation identified 23-year-old Kendrick Monroe as a suspect in this case. He was arrested on August 13, 2013.
Authorities identified a second suspect, 27-year-old Darryl Cooper, and arrested him on Feb. 27.
Houston police investigators charged 25-year-old Malcolm Patterson on March 3. He is currently in custody at a Texas Department of Corrections facility on unrelated charges.
All three men are charged with murder.
