Engine catches fire after Dallas-bound American Airlines flight diverted to Denver
DENVER, Colorado – An engine of a Dallas-bound American Airlines flight caught fire shortly after the plane landed at Denver International Airport after being diverted.
The FAA says American Airlines Flight 1006 departed Colorado Springs Airport and was headed to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport when the crew reported engine vibrations.
The Boeing 737-800 diverted to Denver and landed safely at 5:15 p.m.
After landing and while taxiing to the gate, one of the engines caught fire and passengers had to evacuate the aircraft using slides.
No injuries were reported, The FAA is investigating the incident.
