Residents left without power on cold night in Fort Bend County

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Downed power lines knocked out power to portions of Fort Bend County on Tuesday night.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said the significant power outage affected Cinco Ranch and Mission Bend.

Officials said they believe the downed power lines may be wind-related.

At 8:45 p.m., officials said about 4,500 customers were without power. Officials said they were working to restore power to the customers and they think the issue is related to a problem with a transformer.

Power lines were downed near the intersection of FM 1964 and Bissonnet Road.
