HOUSTON – Today Show host Hoda Kotb released a new children's book this week, "I've Loved You Since Forever".
Kotb said it is an ode to her 1-year-old adopted daughter, Haley Joy.
"We applied for the adoption, and while we were waiting to see if this will ever come to be I would just scribble in my journal because I’ve loved this child before this child was born. I’ve loved you since forever and it was like I knew that she was sleeping under the same moon and stars somewhere out there. We were meant to be together," Kotb said.
Haley Joy was born Feb. 14, 2017, and Kotb said life hasn't been the same since.
"I feel like a totally different person today than I did before Haley. I feel like I would trade my very best day before Haley for the worst day since her, that’s what she means and that’s how she’s altered me and the way I live my life," Kotb said.
After becoming a mom at age 52, Kotb has a special message for other women still on their journey to motherhood.
"Your baby will come when it’s time. It’ll come right on time, so you just have to wait for it to unfold and I know you get anxious because I did but I think if you wait wisely it will come when it’s time," she said.
