John Mahoney, beloved dad from 'Frasier,' dies at 77, report says

HOUSTON – John Mahoney, the beloved dad on "Frasier," has died at the age of 77, according to the entertainment website TMZ.

Mahoney reportedly died in Chicago. 

TMZ, citing Mahoney’s publicist, said the actor died Sunday while in hospice care. 

Mahoney is most well-known for his role as Martin Crane on “Frasier.”

Mahoney was nominated for two Golden Globes. 

Most recently, he appeared on the TV series Foyle’s War. 

Mahoney was born in England on June 20, 1940.
