Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock had ties to Texas

HOUSTON – The man who killed more than 50 people and injured more than 400 at a Las Vegas concert has ties to Texas.

The 3900 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard, where the Mandalay Bay Resorts and Casino sits, is roughly 1,227 miles from where Stephen Paddock once lived in Mesquite, Texas.

Neighbors have mixed emotions about Paddock's character

While one neighbor, who wants to remain anonymous, said the man now responsible for the worst mass shooting in U.S. history was once a good guy, another neighbor across the street from Mesquite Park Apartments told KPRC 2 they had confrontation with Paddock over a construction disagreement.

Where did Paddock work in Texas?

Channel 2 Investigates uncovered records that showed Paddock as a manager of Mesquite Central Park Apartments, LLC.

The registered agent for that property is Keith Short, a Houston-based attorney. In a phone call Monday morning, Short told Channel 2 that he does not recall meeting Paddock, and added that all of his business filings were done through FedEx and correspondence.

KPRC 2 discovered that Eric Paddock is Steven Paddock's brother and you'll hear from him at 6:30 p.m. We will also report on the life of crime that surrounded Paddock as a child.

KPRC 2 will provide further information as it becomes available.
