BAYTOWN, Texas – The Baytown Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a robber as it investigates a series of armed robberies of convenience stores in the Baytown area.
Police said the robberies are believed to have been committed by the same person who is also believed to be linked to at least five different robberies since the beginning of the year.

Detectives learned the robber typically enters the stores brandishing a handgun, on several occasions jumping over the counter, police said. The robber then forces the store employees at gunpoint to hand over all the cash from the register before fleeing the store.
Police said a recent robbery happened Wednesday at a convenience store in the 1200 block of Decker Drive.
No one has been injured so far, but detectives are concerned the robber's actions could escalate, police said.
"The Baytown Police Department is committed to the safety of its citizens and will not tolerate crimes against members of our community," the department said in a release.
Police said the robber is believed to be a black male with a medium build who is 5 feet 10 inches tall. The robber wore some type of mask or a bandanna covering his face. In several of the cases he has worn a unique hoodie, described by police as a "Jordan Jumpman" hoodie, that is dark gray or black with a gray Jumpman logo on the front.
Anyone who may recognize the robber is asked to call the Baytown Police Department at 281-422-8371. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers at 281-427-TIPS, submit anonymous tips online at the Baytown Police Department website or text keyword BAYTOWN plus the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Police said tipsters will remain anonymous.
