BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas – Police are looking for two Atlanta men who are accused of selling counterfeit tickets for the Texas A&M vs. Tennessee football game in early October.

The Texas A&M University Police Department obtained felony warrants for the arrests of William Gerard Brown and Clifford Lamar Pitts, according to a news release.

Both men are accused of selling the fake tickets Oct. 8, police said.

Officers found Brown in possession of five counterfeit tickets on the day of the game, prompting his arrest and five subsequent charges on trademark counterfeiting.

Brown was taken to the Brazos County Jail, but he posted $15,000 bond and was released.

On Oct. 8 and the days that followed, university police took several more reports from people who had bought fake tickets for the same game.

In one instance, four of the buyers took a photo of the man who sold them the tickets, and the victims showed his picture to police, officers said.

Investigators later identified the seller as Pitts — who was questioned about allegedly selling counterfeit tickets on the day of the game, but released after officials with the Texas A&M campus issued him only a criminal trespassing warrant.

Now, police are looking for Brown and Pitts. Based on the warrants obtained with the help of the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office, Brown will be charged with one count, and Pitts will face four counts, of forgery with a financial instrument. This is considered a state jail felony, punishable by a prison term of up to two years and/or a $10,000 fine, officials said.

Anyone with information regarding Brown and Pitts is asked to call 979-845-2345.
