Police: Drunken driver kills 2 people in 4-vehicle crash in north Houston

HOUSTON – A 22-year-old man is facing two counts of intoxicated manslaughter after killing two people on a motorcycle in a crash Saturday morning, police said.

Police said around 2:30 a.m., Forrest Vaughn was going fast toward a red light at the intersection of FM 1960 and Imperial Valley.

Vaughn failed to slow down and struck a Yamaha motorcycle, a Honda Accord, and a Honda Fit from behind.

A man and woman were thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

Police said two people in the Honda Fit were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and the driver of the Honda Accord was not injured.

Vaughn was taken to the hospital in stable condition and his blood alcohol level was tested. Test results show he was intoxicated.

He had a court appearance Saturday, but it was rescheduled for next week.

Vaughn is being held on a $30,000 bail.

The two people who died have not been identified.

The case is under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
