HOUSTON – Floods have ravaged a large swath of Louisiana, and Texans have been wondering how to help their neighbors.

On Friday, AT&T announced that their wireless customers can use a text message to donate to the relief efforts. Customers can text  "RELIEF" to 80077 to donate $10 to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation Louisiana Flood Relief Fund. The donation will appear on the customer's next bill or be deducted from their prepaid balance.

The American Red Cross is also accepting donations via text message. To donate, people can text "LAFLOODS" to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the relief organization. Donations can also be made on the charity's website at redcross.org.

The Salvation Army is also active in Louisiana, and is accepting donations via its website at salvationarmyusa.org.

As of Friday, about 74,000 people have been affected by the floods in the Baton Rouge region. The estimated value of property likely affected by flooding is $20.7 billion, according to the region's chamber of commerce.
