The video begins with the toddler sitting in her mother’s lap, with the lion laying calmly on the ground next to two trainers. The toddler is then heard crying, and the lion’s ears perk up at the high pitched squeals.
Although the lion is kept on a short leash, things take a quick turn when it leaps up and grabs for the girl. Its paws and teeth yank at the girl’s pants, while the mother screams in terror, pulling her child away.
The female trainer attempts to diffuse the situation, repeating to the mother “No, no, no, relax, relax, relax,” while the male trainer pries the lion’s jaws apart and pulls it away. The toddler is red-faced and crying, but apparently unharmed as she wails in the female trainer’s arms.
The male trainer later brings the lion back, and the female trainer passes the child back to her mother as the lion paws at one of the trainer’s legs and the mother and daughter exit off screen.
According to IMDb Con Sello de Mujer aired from 1999 to 2007, and focused on a female audience. Although the show has not been aired for years, this particular clip has many upset today after going viral on social media.
