Mom arrested after son found home alone sucking on frozen chicken

DES MOINES – An Iowa mother was arrested Monday after her two-year-old son was found home alone, sucking on a frozen chicken breast.

Police found the toddler in the backyard wearing nothing but a full and sagging diaper, and a small dog was there too, trying to jump up on the child to get his chicken.

Hallie Amick, 30, faces child endangerment charges and drug charges after police also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the home.

One neighbor told police she had found the child in the middle of the street once.
