1 hurt when car hits HFD medical vehicle in northwest Houston

HOUSTON – One person was hurt when a Houston Fire Department medical vehicle and another vehicle collided in northwest Houston.

The crash was reported just before 9 a.m. Thursday on the 610 Loop at Ella.

Investigators said HFD Medic 62 was heading to  headquarters when it was hit by a vehicle.

One person in the other vehicle was taken to the hospital. The person's injuries are unknown.

Traffic in the area was backed up in both directions.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
