Three members of one rhino family killed by lightning strike

INDIA – A lightning strike at a national park in India has killed three members of one rhino family.

According to the Daily Mail, A 27-year-old female, a 14-year-old calf and a baby rhino were struck by a bolt of lightning in Gorumara National Park in India's West Bengal state.

Officials said the bolt "shook the ground" for miles.

According to the Daily Mail, the family had been living in the park for more than a decade.

A forest officer called the tragedy "an unprecedented accident."

There are reports that other animals also died. Park officials are checking the forests.
