HOUSTON – Gunfire erupted at a southwest Houston apartment, injuring three men, after an alleged jewelry sale went wrong.
Houston police were first dispatched around 8 p.m. Thursday to a shooting call at the Westchase Grand apartments in the 10800 block of Richmond Ave. at Walnut Bend. They arrived to find one man suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. The man said he did not know who shot him, and was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.

Around 9 p.m., Harris County County Sheriff's deputies were sent to Kingwood Medical Center after two shooting victims drove themselves to the hospital.
Authorities then connected the two cases.
Police said it all started when two men went to Westgrand Chase apartments to purchase jewelry they saw online. The men said they had $8,000 in cash with them.
The men said while they were looking at the jewelry, three men with guns barged into the apartment and stole the money.
Parties from both sides had guns and a shootout began.
Police said blood and bullet holes were everywhere.
No neighbors were caught in the crossfire.
Of the men who drove themselves to the hospital, a 28-year-old was shot once in the thigh and transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in stable conditIon. The other man, who is 29 years old, was shot in the thigh, abdomen and arm. He was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition.
