Coldplay has been announced as the Super Bowl 50 halftime show performance.
The takes place Feb. 7 at the San Francisco's 49ers Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The news was first reported by Dennis K. Berman of The Wall Street Journal.
The NFL is expected to announce the Super Bowl halftime act during Thursday night's game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions.
Coldplay will be the first band featured at the Super Bowl halftime show since the Red Hot Chili Peppers joined Mars on stage. The British rock band is comprised of Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, and Will Champion.
Mars is also slated to perform at the show.
Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams album will be released in stores on Dec. 4. Beyoncé, who is also featured on the new album, is reportedly in talks to make a guest appearance, according to WSJ.
Last year's show featured Katy Perry as the headliner with appearances by Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott. Coldplay and Rihanna were considered for last year's show.
