Police: AT&T technology helps police capture crime ring suspects

LA PORTE, Texas – Technology helped police capture a group of men believed to be connected to an organized crime ring.

La Porte police responded to a burglary call early Wednesday morning at an AT&T wireless store in the 8700 block of Spencer Highway. AT&T used technology to help police locate the suspects in their getaway vehicle on Beltway 8 near the border of Pasadena and Deer park.

Four men were taken into custody. Police said several stolen items from the store were in their possession. Police said the men entered the AT&T store by smashing a hole in the wall of an adjacent vacant unit at the strip center.

Justin Carter, 22, Ernest Hill, 27, Tevon Solomon, 21, and Devonte Vining, 19, face charges ranging from burglary to engaging in organized criminal activity.

Police believe that the men are connected to a crime ring operating around the Houston area.
