Toyota recalls 6.5 million vehicles and other business news

HOUSTON – Toyota is recalling 6.5 million vehicles worldwide over a faulty power window switch.

The automaker said that the defect could possibly cause a fire, but so far there are no reports of that happening. The models under recall are the Yaris/Vitz subcompact, Corolla, Camry, RAV4, Matrix, Highlander, Tundra, Sequoia and Scion xB. Toyota said the vehicles were produced between Jan. 2005 and Dec. 2010.

Sony Pictures will pay $4.5 million to past and present employees whose information was stolen by hackers. The settlement stems from the massive cyberattack on the company's computer network more than a year ago. Lawyers in the case may receive close to $3.5 million, bringing the total payout to $8 million.
