PD: 3 detained after SWAT standoff ends at north Houston apartment

HOUSTON – Three people have been detained after SWAT officers with the Houston Police Department surrounded an apartment Tuesday where armed robbery suspects were barricaded inside.

According to HPD, three to four armed robbers held up the Abby's Deli and Takeout in the 2700 block of Greens Road around 9:40 a.m.

The suspects fled the scene in a red vehicle, and police tracked them to the Breckenridge at Cityview Apartments in the 500 block of Seminar.

SWAT officers were called to the scene and tried to negotiate a surrender.

Around 12:45 p.m., police said they detained three people -- two juveniles and one adult.

The apartment belongs to the girlfriend of one of the suspects, police said. She surrendered right away.

Police believe the suspects could be responsible for other robberies.
