Murder charges filed against man in double shooting at gas station

HOUSTON – A man has been charged with murder after a double shooting at a north Houston gas station.

Police said Joseph Jackson, 31, was arguing with two men around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Gulf gas station in the 5000 block of Yale.

Jackson pulled out his gun and began shooting, police said.

Howard Ray Cooper, 33, was shot in the chest.  Keandre Glover, 20, was shot in the foot. 

Both victims were taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where Cooper died.

Glover was listed in stable condition.

Jackson fled the scene after the shooting, but police were able to identify him and place him under arrest.
