According to Assistant District Attorney Lauren Valenti, The Richmond Police Department and Fort Bend County Animal Control were called to the defendant's property on Collins Road in Richmond regarding several dogs in neglect.
Three pit bull dogs were found chained to a truck with little shelter, food or water. All three were confiscated by animal control because of their poor health.
The chain was so tight around the neck of one dog that it had cut into the skin of its neck.
Unfortunately, of the three dogs rescued, one had to be euthanized by animal control.
Abu-Shlieba was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs as part of his sentence. A judge also ordered him to pay over $6,600 in restitution to the Fort Bend County Animal Shelter to account for the medical care and other necessities for the three dogs.
He must also complete 80 hours of community service and cannot own any animals during his two-year term of probation.
Meanwhile, the two surviving dogs, Oliver and Abby, are still up for adoption.
