HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating a series of car thefts at a popular north Houston gym.
Since Aug. 1, there have been four break-ins reported at the LA Fitness in the 4400 block of N. Shepherd Drive.
"At least once every two weeks you'll see a cop car and somebody with glass all in the road," said gym member Patrick Oden.
Oden became the latest victim last Friday. He said he left LA Fitness around 7:45 and found the back window of his truck busted and $10,000 in work equipment gone.
"It's pretty crazy that it's happening here so consistently," Oden said.
LA Fitness has security cameras in the parking lot and put out a flyer telling members to leave valuables at home and report suspicious activity. But Oden thinks more needs to be done.
"Just hire a service to come through even if it's just a security car that drives through might help keep people from coming in the parking lot," he said.
A manager for the gym told Channel 2 he had no comment on the recent crimes.
