HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Loved ones are getting ready to say goodbye to the family that was killed over the weekend.
Eight caskets will line the front of Fallbrook Church during the funeral service for the Jackson/Conley family who were found shot to death in their northwest Harris County home.
Valerie Jackson, 40, Dwayne Jackson, and six children -- Nathaniel Conley, 13; Honesty, 11; Dwayne Jr., 10; Caleb, 9; Trinity, 7; and Jonah, 6 -- were all found dead. Valerie's ex, David Conley, is accused in the shootings.
"We are normally faced with the death of one family member at a time, not an entire family. Children are involved. That is why Allen Dave (Funeral Homes) stepped up to the plate," owner Allen Dave said.
They contacted Fallbrook Church, who is providing their services free of charge, to help give people in the community closure.
"Houston is their home. There are a lot of people who love them. Co-workers. The kids went to Aldine schools. We thought it was very kind in the midst of tragedy and disappointment for the family to think about everybody in Houston who loved the Jackson and Conley family," Olus Holder, executive pastor of Fallbrook Church, said.
Bruce Johnson is the spokesman for the families. He said the Jackson family will attend the service, but Valerie Jackson's family will not be able to make it. However, he said her last surviving child sends a message.
"The child appreciates the outpouring of love and support at this difficult time," Johnson, CEO of 1000 Men Empowerment Group, said.
The memorial service for all eight victims will be held at noon Monday, Aug. 17, at Fallbrook Church 12512 Walters Road, Houston, TX 77014.
