Teens win $5,000 scholarships for duct tape prom attire

AMERICAN FORK, Utah –  A pair of teens now have $5,000 scholarships thanks to their hard work designing and making their own prom wardrobe out of duct tape.

Bekah Mecham and her date,Wyatt Burns, won second place in the national "Stuck At Prom" contest.

To enter, participants had to design and create outfits all out of duct tape!

Using 15 rolls of duct tape, the pair crafted a white dress with gold trim for Mecham, and a matching black tux for Burns.

After 175 hours of hard work, they both earned the college scholarships.
