UH students foil man's attempted robbery

HOUSTON – Two students were almost robbed at gunpoint at the Bayou Oaks apartments just outside the University of Houston campus.

Police said a female student and a friend were approached by an armed man demanding money.

When they said they had none, he demanded their phones. The students told the man they could track their phones, so he fled.

Police are looking for the would-be robber.
