HOUSTON – The two brothers who were found unresponsive in their family pool in west Houston Thursday evening have died, according to Pct. 5 deputy constables.
Authorities said they were called out to 2135 Thicket Ridge Lane near Briar Forest about 6:15 p.m.
Investigators said the boys, Gonzalo Ramiro, 9 and Alvaro Ramiro, 6, were left at home with their sister in the care of a nanny while their mother ran errands.
The brothers were playing with a camping tent in the pool when they started having trouble in the water, according to officers.
An investigator with Harris County Constable Precinct 5 said one of their deputy constables who works security in the Lakes of Parkway subdivision was doing paperwork in his patrol car when a 12-year-old girl ran up to him, saying her brothers were drowning.
He ran to the house and pulled one boy out of the pool and a nanny pulled out the other, deputies said.
The deputy constable performed CPR on the boys until paramedics arrived and took them both to Texas Children's Hospital West campus.
The brothers were pronounced dead at the hospital.
