HOUSTON – A local Starbucks barista left a heartfelt message to his former customers thanking them for helping him to overcome personal challenges.
At the Highland Village Starbucks location on Westheimer, former barista Christopher Christ (yes, his manager assures us that is his real name) wrote in marker on a whiteboard about how much his life changed during his employment there and to thank his regulars.

The note reads: "I just wanted to say Thank You for the past six years. I came to this store having almost failed out of college, having a lot of student debt, and being very overweight. Because of this store, because of you, I was able to graduate with honors and no student debt and lose 75 lbs. It's time for me to move on now but I will never forget you all. I love you all very much and hope that you continue to come to this store. Thanks again for everything."
Store manager Jen Harvell told KPRC 2 News that Christopher had been working a second job in addition to his Starbucks job and was recently offered a full-time position at his other place of employment.
"We're really proud of him," said Harvell.
We wish Christopher the best of luck in his new endeavors.
