Deputies respond to fatal shooting in north Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff's Office is responding to a fatal shooting that happened Sunday afternoon at Imperial Valley Drive and F.M. 1960.

Officials said they found a man's body on Imperial Valley. The road is closed in both directions surrounding the crime scene.

Authorities said the man was shot in the chest multiple times. 

Sources tell KPRC 2 that the driver of the car stopped and exited the vehicle. He was then allegedly shot by a passenger in the car. The car is described as a gold Kia Soul.

One woman at the scene told KPRC 2 that her brother had witnessed the murder.

"He just said, 'Me and my friend just witnessed a murder. You need to come get your nephew right now," Cheyenne Haines said. "He said he saw somebody get shot and his friend tried to save his life but it was too late."

The shooting remains under investigation.
