CYPRESS, Texas – A barbecue joint in Cypress is expecting a special deal to attract a lot of customers this July Fourth.
Brooks' Place at 18020 FM 529 will be offering a free sandwich with any purchase, if you bring your concealed handgun license.
"If you have your CHL and your weapon, then you'll get a free dessert and a free sandwich," said Trent Brooks, who owns the stand.
He says while it's not your typical special, it is a way to show support for gun rights.
"I believe in the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms," Brooks said.
Many of Brooks' regularswelcome the idea.
"We think it's great! We'll be there," customer Mandy Harris said.
Of course there are some people who may disagree with the controversial deal, but either way the brisket and pork will be ready.
"They don't have to come, that's their decision and we support that," Harris said. "It's our decision to be there."
The stand will open at 11 a.m. Saturday.
