HOUSTON – Court papers state that Dr. Robert Yetman, a well-respected physician who has been with The University of Texas Health Science Center for 30 years, inappropriately touched a 7-year-old boy in January 2014.
Deborah Lake, a representative for Yetman's employer, UT Health, issued a written statement Friday afternoon, that read, "An internal investigation of the alleged incident did not find any evidence of wrongdoing. At this time Dr. Yetman has been placed on administrative leave. Because this is an active legal case, we are not able to provide additional information or comment."
KPRC 2 learned that Yetman had also been seeing patients at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The hospital released a written statement from Alex Loessin that read, "We are deeply concerned by the serious allegation against Dr. Robert Yetman as the safety and well-being of our patients are our top priorities. We are cooperating with law enforcement authorities as they conduct their investigation. Pending the legal conclusion of the court case, Dr. Yetman is on administrative leave from UTHealth and is no longer seeing patients at our hospital."
It's unclear where the alleged incident occurred.
Yetman was unavailable for comment.
