Students removed from Alief ISD bus moments before it catches fire

HOUSTON – There were no injuries after an Alief Independent School District bus loaded with children caught fire Monday.

It happened as the driver was taking 13 students home from summer school. During the route, the driver smelled smoke and stopped the bus on Richmond and Highway 6.

The driver was able to get everyone out of the bus before the front of the bus caught fire.

Bystanders helped the children stay clear from the flames. Alief ISD sent another bus to pick up the students.
