Henriquez was involved in the shooting of officer Ann Carrizales.

"This jury sent a clear message to this criminal defendant and to any criminal that would try to kill police officers," assistant district attorney Chris DeLozier said. "It will not be tolerated."

The Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office released a statement that read in part:

"Officer Carrizales was shot in the face and chest after which Henriquez fled the scene. Henriquez drove dangerously on the wrong side of the road – running stop signs, stoplights, and almost crashing into other vehicles. Heroically, Officer Carrizales chased her assailant and returned fire despite being wounded. Officer Carrizales remained in pursuit even after she was fired on again."

Carrizales returned to work in July of last year.
