HOUSTON – A man is in the hospital, two people have been arrested and a gunman is on the loose after a shooting near a west Houston gas station.
The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon at a shopping strip center at Briar Forest near Wilcrest. When officers arrived, they found a man shot multiple times.
Police said it appears to be a drug deal gone wrong. According to police, several people were inside of a vehicle when one of them pulled out a gun and fired. Another person also pulled out a gun and fired shots because investigators said at least two different shell casings were found inside the vehicle.
Officers pulled over the vehicle and two people inside were taken into custody after police said marijuana and another drug were found. Two weapons were also recovered.
The victim, who is in serious condition, is expected to survive, police said.
