HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies are investigating after they say a man was shot and killed by masked men who forced their way into an apartment in Katy on Sunday morning.
The shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. on Kingsland Boulevard near Provincial Boulevard.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, two armed men came into the apartment and confronted several people inside. Two men, Christian Burke, 20, and Brandon Fries, 21, began to fight back.
Investigators said the masked men opened fire, shooting Burke and Fries. Both victims were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Katy for treatment.
Fries survived his injuries, but his friend, Burke was pronounced dead at the hospital.
