Video released of METRO bus driver accused of covering camera, having sex with woman

HOUSTON – KPRC 2 News has obtained video from on-board a METRO Lift bus, whose driver is accused of having sex with a disabled passenger.

We first brought you this story earlier this month. The video includes the moment the driver covered up the camera with a piece of paper.

In the video, you can see the METRO Lift driver pull the bus over and put it in park. He can then be seen covering up the security camera with a sheet of paper.

Houston police said the driver, who no longer works for the company, had sex with the woman while he was on the job.

According to Houston police, the driver picked up a disabled woman in the 3000 block of West Dallas Street near Waugh Drive.

The woman boarded the bus around 3:26 p.m. and didn't get off until 6:03 p.m., according to the time stamp at the top of the video screen.

Investigators said the woman originally reported the sexual activity as sexual assault, but after further investigation, it was determined that the sexual activities were consensual.

Police said even though the cameras were covered up, the audio was still recording.

No charges were filed because police said no crime was committed, but the driver was immediately taken off the job.

In a statement, METRO said, "As soon as METRO learned of this incident, we took steps to ensure the driver was removed for METROLift service. Authorities were immediately notified as was the driver's employer. We want our patrons to know safety is our number one priority and we are fully cooperating with the investigation."
