EL LAGO, Texas – The city of El Lago in Harris County is trying a new measure to prevent speeding.

On its Facebook page Thursday, the city posted a photo of a speed limit sign with a sign below it showing the minimum fine for speeding. Part of the caption read, "The city would like to see everyone slow down, rather than pay for a speeding ticket."

The city said it only has a few signs and that the signs will be posted for about two weeks. It plans to post them again at the beginning of next school year to keep kids safe.

In a comment on the Facebook post, the city said it has received a positive response from the signs.
