HCSO: Robbers shot and killed 34-year-old smoke shop owner

HOUSTON – Investigators are asking for the public's help to find three men who shot and killed a 34-year-old smoke shop owner and father during a robbery in northeast Harris County Wednesday evening.

The robbery happened at the man's store, H-Town Smoke Shop, at 1550 Aldine Bender Road near Chrisman Road, around 6:15 p.m.

Family members at the scene identified the victim as Jacob Mitchell, the owner of the shop.

Homicide investigators said three men entered the store and robbed it at gunpoint. A fight ensued and the owner was shot dead.  Detectives said they are interviewing the one witness who was inside the store at the time.

The robbers left before deputies arrived. They are described as black men between 18 and 20 years old. One robber had brown dreadlocks with blonde tips and was wearing a hoodie and shorts. The second robber also had brown dreadlocks and was wearing a hoodie and shorts. The third man had a long, brown Afro that was tied back in a pony tail. He was also wearing a hoodie and shorts.
