HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A truck driver was attacked and fatally stabbed while washing his vehicle outside his northeast Harris County home early Wednesday, according to Precinct 4 deputy constables.
Deputies said Anthony Kincaid, 55, had just gotten off work and was washing his vehicle in the driveway of his home in the 8800 block of Orchard Ridge Lane. Ryan Whitaker showed up shortly before midnight and began chasing Kincaid.
Whitaker chased Kincaid to his neighbor's house while slashing him with a knife. The neighbors heard Kincaid's cries for help and called 911.
When deputies arrived, they found Whitaker straddling Kincaid and continuing to cut him.
"Cops told him to drop the knife and he did and they struggled him to handcuff him," a neighbor told KPRC 2.
Deputies quickly took Whitaker into custody and called for medical personnel.
Kincaid was pronounced dead at the scene.
"There was a guy dead and it was my neighbor. I am pretty shocked, this is a quiet neighborhood," said a neighbor.
Whitaker, 44, was charged with murder and is being held in the Harris County Jail.
Officers say as of Wednesday afternoon it appears the suspect and victim did not know each other.
